We apply the first coat of polyurethane in long, even strokes while following the grain of the wood and then allow it to dry completely overnight.

Step 7: Finishing Touches

After the first coat of polyurethane has dried, we lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper to ensure a smooth finish. This process, known as "screening," prepares the wood for additional coats. We can apply additional coats of polyurethane, typically three or more, with a drying time between each coat to achieve a flawless finish.

Step 8: Final Inspection
